Maag Angus Ranch

Welcome to the Maag Angus Ranch Website!

We are proud to offer an overview of our operation and this great way of life.

As summer gets into full swing we would like to thank all of our customers for a successful spring both from our performance sale through the private treaty offering. Without each and every one of you this would not be possible. We appreciate your confidence in our program and will work to keep you and your cattle at the leading edge in this business. Check out the Performance Sale page to see the performance sale report.

As many of you know the Angus breed has been dealing with defects. Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM) or also referred to as Curly Calf Syndrome was traced to certain bloodlines last fall and a test was developed. Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH) has more recently been discovered and traced to a specific bloodline and again a test has been developed. While some have chosen to downplay the significance of these defects or ignore them outright we have chosen a different path in order to protect ourselves and our customers. We have tested every potential carrier in our herd and reported the results to the American Angus Association. As our customer, you can rest assured that we will not pass on this defect to you under ANY circumstances. Any animal found to be a carrier of this defect will be eliminated from our purebred operation without question. In our mind there is only one way to deal  with a defect such as this and that is to eliminate it. If you would like more information about Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH) or for a complete and current listing of animals that have been tested log on to www.angus.org and search the most current listings and information. If you would like to contact us directly feel free to call or email us and we will gladly answer any questions you may have.

You are also invited to check out our Cattle Shop page. This is where our past customers can post listings of cattle they have or will be offering for sale. The demand has improved greatly and often times we have been able to market many animals from our customers prior to posting the listing. We monitor and post the listings on this page. From here we can contact potential buyers and direct them to your listing. The service is free to customers with Maag Angus Ranch genetics.

If you are interested in any of our services or just curious about how we do things please contact us. We will be happy to visit with you.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your visit!
