Once again we are looking forward to our Annual Performance Sale held in conjunction with Oft Angus Ranch and Cook Herefords. Check out the Performance Sale page to see our sale ad and a link to our online sale catalog. All of the bulls selling have been fully vaccinated and will have passed an extensive fertility test by an accredited veterinarian. A new addition will be that ALL bulls will carry a negative test for trichomoniasis and a current Trich Tag. With this one can buy a bull and take him home and turn him out without a waiting period.
As many of you know a lethal defect was found in the Angus breed last fall. Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM) or also referred to as Curly Calf Syndrome was traced to certain bloodlines and a test was developed. While some have chosen to downplay the significance of this defect or ignore it outright we have chosen a different path in order to protect ourselves and our customers. We have tested every potential carrier in our herd and reported the results to the American Angus Association. As our customer, you can rest assured that we will not pass on this defect to you under ANY circumstances. Any animal found to be a carrier of this defect will be eliminated from our purebred operation without question. In our mind there is only one way to deal with a defect such as this and that is to eliminate it. You are also invited to check out our Cattle Shop page. This is where our past customers can post listings of cattle they have or will be offering for sale. The demand has improved greatly and often times we have been able to market many animals from our customers prior to posting the listing.We monitor and post the listings on this page. From here we can contact potential buyers and direct them to your listing. The service is free to customers with Maag Angus Ranch genetics.
