Welcome to the Maag Angus Ranch Website!
As the calving season is upon us all we would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers and look forward to seeing and hearing about how our bulls have performed in your herd.
We take our commitment to our customers very seriously. They have not only trusted us with their cows but their livelihood. It is humbling and very rewarding to see calves from our bull customers bring top dollar. We strive daily to do the things that will help make our customers more profitable. We see this as something our customer's deserve when they buy a bull from us.
We are really excited about our sale offering this year with an excellent selection of some of the Angus Breed's leading edge genetics. We have taken the time to go out and look at some of these sires so as to pass on the type of animal that will be an asset to you and your operation. It is very interesting to go see these animals in the flesh, watch them walk, and see their disposition. Take a look at the genetics we have put in this offering that you won't find just everywhere. It is no secret that heterosis helps the bottom line in any operation so be sure to look up these new bulls. We think you will like what you see.
Once again we have consigned bulls to the Winnemucca Bull Sale held in conjunction with the Winnemucca Ranch Hand Rodeo Weekend. It is a first class event down in Winnemucca, March 2-6. So if you are in the area be sure to look us up. The bulls consigned will be the same quality genetics you have come to expect at Maag Angus Ranch.
As many of you know the Angus breed has been dealing with defects. There are now three that have recently been identified and a test developed for. Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM) referred to as Curly Calf Syndrome at times), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), and Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA) are the most recent defects. While some have chosen to downplay the significance of these defects or ignore them outright we have chosen a different path in order to protect ourselves and you, our customers. We have tested every potential carrier in our herd and reported the results to the American Angus Association. As our customer, you can rest assured that we will not pass on ANY defect to you under ANY circumstances. Any animal found to be a carrier of this defect will be eliminated from our purebred operation without question. In our mind there is only one way to deal with a defect and that is to eliminate it. If you would like more information about Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), or Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA) and for a complete and current listing of animals that have been tested log on to www.angus.org and search the most current listings and information. If you would like to contact us directly feel free to call or email us and we will gladly answer any questions you may have.
Enjoy your visit and come back often!
